IMPETO is an on going project about dance. My idea is simple, the most interesting part of dancing is the creative process happening behind the scenes. Inspired by the amazing work of Magnum photographers documenting Hollywood sets and more broadly by the reportage style of modern and classic photographers, this project aims to bring the viewers into the world of dancers by taking full advantage of the potential of photography. Documenting the creative process gives me the possibility to get closer to dancers, move with them and capture images that otherwise could not be shown.
I see photogrpahy as the beautiful way of keeping track of the important things in life and that’s also what I want to do with this project, following the work of coreographers and create a timeline of memories. With these documentations I met incredible artists and I’ve found out that the creation process is as important as the creation itself and this project is my way of showing them the value I see in their ideas. Meeting other creatives and learn from them is part of my journey as a person, and so I will continue photographing this world and all the talented people that are part of it.
